The Past, Present and Future of Developer Productivity Theories and Metrics | IDPCON Keynote

In our opening IDPCON keynote, Margaret-Anne (Peggy) Storey (co-author of SPACE, University of Victoria) explores the ongoing evolution of developer productivity through the lens of groundbreaking research insights from the past couple of decades. She discusses some of the key theories, models and frameworks that have been used to conceptualize, understand and measure productivity. She also looks to the future and discusses how our research and industry community can work together to accelerate improvements to both developer productivity and developer experience. Ganesh Datta (CTO and co-founder of Cortex.io) adds on to distill these findings into the problem statement for the day, and together they discuss future trends in developer experience and platform engineering.
